Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1/2 cup organic cane sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup ice water
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 2 tbsp organic cane sugar
  • 3 oz Coconut-Vanilla Simple Syrup
  • 3 oz coffee liquor (e.g., Kahlua)
  • 1.50 oz vodka
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a small frying pan, combine coconut, sugar, vanilla, and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Let it cool, then strain and discard the coconut flakes.
  2. Toast the coconut flakes in a frying pan until caramelized, then mix with sugar.
  3. Moisten the rim of the glass and coat it with the toasted coconut mixture.
  4. In the glass, combine vodka, coffee liquor, and Coconut-Vanilla Simple Syrup, then add the heavy cream. Stir well and serve. Optional: serve over ice.
