Ingredients

  • 1.70 oz Meantime chocolate porter
  • 1.20 oz dark rum
  • 0.50 oz sugar syrup
  • 1 egg
  • Grated nutmeg for serving

Instructions

  1. For cold serving, combine the chocolate porter, dark rum, sugar syrup, and egg in a shaker, and shake vigorously without ice to aerate the egg.
  2. Add ice to the shaker, and shake hard for 10-15 seconds.
  3. Strain the mixture into a glass with a few ice cubes, if desired, and top with grated nutmeg.
  4. For hot serving, gently heat the chocolate porter, dark rum, sugar syrup, and egg in a pan, whisking until warmed through, being careful not to overheat and scramble the egg.
  5. Pour the hot mixture into a glass and sprinkle grated nutmeg on top.
