Ingredients
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Water
- 3 Cinnamon sticks
- 6 Cardamom Pods, lightly crushed (or 1/2 teaspoon ground)
- 1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg (freshly grated)
- 1 Vanilla Bean
- Juice of 2 Lemons
- Juice of 1/2 Lemon
- 1 Egg White
- 1/2 ounce Spiced Lemon Vanilla Simple Syrup
- 2 ounces Gin
- Ice
- Whole Cardamom Pod, to garnish
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, nutmeg, vanilla bean, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 8 minutes. Remove from heat and let it sit for 1 hour.
- Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer and discard the solids. Store the syrup in the refrigerator.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the lemon juice, egg white, simple syrup, and gin. Shake for 20 seconds.
- Add ice to the shaker and shake again until chilled.
- Strain the mixture into a coupe glass and garnish with a cardamom pod or lemon twist.
