Ingredients

  • 2.50 oz Fresh orange juice
  • 1.70 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 8.50 oz Still water
  • A Pinch of sea salt
  • 1 Whole lime peel
  • 1/2 Whole orange peel

Instructions

  1. Place the lime and orange peels along with the sea salt in a sturdy jug or jar.
  2. Use a muddler to pound and crush the peels with the salt until they become soft and glossy from the extracted oils.
  3. Add the fresh orange juice, lime juice, and still water to the muddled peels.
  4. Stir carefully to dissolve the salt and extract all the flavorful oils from the peels.
  5. Taste the mixture to ensure a proper balance of flavors.
  6. Strain the mix into a sterile bottle and refrigerate.
  7. Chill the mix for about 90 minutes for a nice, chilly texture. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
  8. When ready to serve, combine the chilled mix with your favorite tequila over ice, then garnish. The recommended mix-to-tequila ratio is 3 parts mix to 1 part tequila, but adjust according to preferences.
