Ingredients

  • 2 oz Jameson Irish whiskey
  • 2 tsp demerara or brown sugar
  • 6 oz freshly brewed hot coffee
  • 2 tbsp lightly whipped heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Warm a stemmed glass coffee mug using boiling water, then discard the water.
  2. Pour the Jameson Irish whiskey into the warmed glass.
  3. Add the demerara or brown sugar.
  4. Pour the hot coffee into the glass, leaving an inch from the rim.
  5. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
  6. Gently pour the whipped cream over the back of a spoon to float it on top of the coffee.
  7. Optionally garnish with a vanilla pod, cinnamon stick, or a grating of fresh nutmeg.
  8. Serve the coffee on a plate with no spoon, and sip it through the layer of cream.
