Ingredients

  • 2 oz double cream
  • 1.50 oz Irish whiskey (Redbreast 12 Year Old recommended)
  • 4 oz freshly brewed coffee
  • 1 tsp demerara sugar
  • Freshly grated nutmeg for garnish

Instructions

  1. Lightly whip the double cream in a bowl for about a minute until it is well combined but not reaching the soft peak stage.
  2. Warm a serving glass with hot water, then discard the water. Add the whiskey, coffee, and sugar to the glass, stirring to combine. Adjust the strength by adding hot water if desired.
  3. Warm a tablespoon in hot water, wipe dry, then hold it over the coffee. Gently pour the lightly whipped cream over the back of the spoon, allowing it to float on top of the coffee.
  4. Garnish with a light dusting of freshly grated nutmeg and serve.
