Highland Frothy Nog
A rich and creamy holiday eggnog made with farm-fresh eggs, whole milk, and heavy cream, garnished with freshly grated nutmeg.
Ingredients
- 1 large very fresh farm egg
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- Garnish: fresh grated nutmeg
Instructions
- Carefully separate the egg yolk from the white and refrigerate the egg white.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg yolk and sugar until smooth.
- Slowly whisk in the milk and cream into the egg yolk mixture.
- In another medium bowl, whisk the egg white until frothy.
- Gently fold two-thirds of the frothy egg white mixture into the yolk mixture.
- Discard the remaining one-third of the egg white mixture.
- Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg, if desired.
- Store sealed in a glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 1 day. Shake the jar before mixing cocktails.
