Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1 ounce hibiscus simple syrup
  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  • 5 ounces sparkling water (club soda)
  • Fresh lime, for garnish

Instructions

  1. For the hibiscus simple syrup, combine sugar, water, and dried hibiscus flowers in a small pot. Heat over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved, then let it steep for 10 minutes before straining out the flowers. Store the syrup in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
  2. To make the Hibiscus Bloom Spritz, add vodka and 1 ounce of the simple syrup to a tall glass. Stir together, add ice, and top with sparkling water. Garnish with a wedge of fresh lime.
  3. For a mocktail version, add 1 1/2 ounces of the simple syrup to sparkling water and serve ice cold.
